Steel Slurry Tanks for Agricultural, Industrial & Commercial Waste Storage

Butek Tanks manufactures corrugated steel slurry tanks designed for agricultural slurry storage and industrial slurry storage on large-scale farming and commercial operations. Our slurry storage tanks are available from 280m³ to 1,250m³, lined with Landflex® ES and engineered to CIRIA C759 standards. Whether you need a slurry store for a dairy farm, pig farm, poultry operation or an industrial site, our tanks are built to store slurry safely, durably, and in full compliance with UK regulations.

Slurry Tank Sizes and Specifications

Each slurry storage tank is manufactured from high-grade galvanised steel with an anti-corrosion coating and our Landflex® ES lining, designed to safely contain animal waste including cattle manure, pig slurry and poultry waste. MZ fittings are supplied with each tank. All tanks have been independently structurally calculated in accordance with CIRIA C759a and C759b, with design compliance to UK and European standards:

BS EN 1990:2002Basis of structural design
BS EN 1991-1-1:2002Eurocode 1: Actions on structures – Part 1-1: General actions – Densities, self-weight, imposed loads for buildings

Key Benefits of Our Steel Slurry Storage Tanks

Landflex® ES Lining for Safe, Sealed Slurry Storage

Every Butek slurry storage tank is lined with Landflex® ES, our specialist agricultural lining designed to safely store slurry, manure and animal waste. The lining creates a fully sealed, impermeable barrier that prevents leakage into the surrounding land, protecting soil and water from nitrate and ammonia contamination. It is resistant to the gases produced by decomposing slurry, including methane, hydrogen sulphide and carbon dioxide, keeping your slurry store safe and your site compliant.

Meets UK Agricultural Slurry Storage Regulations

All Butek slurry tanks are engineered to meet UK regulations for agricultural slurry storage, which require a minimum of four months slurry storage capacity for livestock farms across England, Scotland and Wales. Our tanks are independently structurally calculated to CIRIA C759a and C759b standards and comply with BS 5502-50, the code of practice for agricultural slurry storage. Every tank we install comes with the documentation farmers and land agents need to demonstrate regulatory compliance and satisfy Environment Agency permit requirements.

High-Grade Steel Construction Built for Long-Term Durability

Our slurry tanks are manufactured from high-grade galvanised steel with an anti-corrosion coating, built for the demanding conditions of a working farm or industrial site. The corrugated steel construction gives each tank exceptional structural strength, and the durable materials ensure a long service life with minimal maintenance. Unlike concrete structures, which can crack over time and are difficult to inspect, our steel slurry tanks are easy to maintain and simple to check for any signs of wear.

Five Tank Sizes for Agricultural and Industrial Slurry Storage

We offer five standard slurry storage tank sizes, from 280m³ for small to medium dairy or pig farms through to 1,250m³ for large-scale farming operations and industrial slurry storage facilities. Every size comes with the same high-grade steel construction, Landflex® ES lining and CIRIA C759-compliant structural calculations. If your agricultural slurry storage or industrial slurry storage requirements sit outside our standard range, our team can discuss a custom solution.

Reduces Environmental Risk and Protects Land, Crops and Water

Storing slurry correctly reduces the risk of pollution incidents that can harm crops, contaminate water sources and result in regulatory fines. A properly installed and lined slurry tank controls the release of harmful emissions including ammonia and methane, protecting the environment and the nutrient value of the slurry for when it is spread on land. Butek slurry storage tanks help farmers manage animal waste responsibly, preventing pollution, maintaining compliance with Environment Agency directives and preserving the organic matter that makes slurry a valuable, free fertiliser.

Full UK Slurry Tank Installation Service

Butek Tanks provides a complete slurry tank installation service across the UK, from initial site survey and design through to delivery, erection and commissioning. Our experienced installation teams work on farms, agricultural sites and industrial facilities, ensuring every tank is installed correctly, safely and in line with all UK construction and regulation requirements. Frequently Asked Questions

A slurry tank is used to store livestock slurry, agricultural waste and digestate safely before treatment or land application. Slurry storage tanks help farms and industrial facilities manage waste efficiently while reducing environmental risks.

The required slurry tank size depends on livestock numbers, waste output, storage regulations and the intended storage period. Larger agricultural and commercial operations typically require higher-capacity slurry storage tanks to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.

Yes, galvanised steel slurry tanks are widely used in agriculture because they provide strength, corrosion resistance and long service life. Protective coatings and specialist liners also help improve durability when storing slurry and digestate.

Yes, slurry tanks can be customised with different capacities, liner systems, fittings and access options to suit individual agricultural or industrial sites. Tank layouts can also be adapted to meet operational and environmental requirements.

Slurry storage tanks in the UK should comply with relevant structural and agricultural standards, including BS EN and BS 5502 design requirements. Compliance helps ensure safe operation, structural reliability and environmental protection.

Steel slurry tanks manufactured with galvanised steel and anti-corrosion protection are designed for long-term use in demanding agricultural environments. Lifespan will vary depending on maintenance, slurry composition and site conditions.

Yes, slurry tanks can also be used for digestate storage when fitted with appropriate liner systems and components. This makes them suitable for anaerobic digestion and other agricultural waste management applications.
