At Butek Tanks we offer a comprehensive service whereby we attend site and install the supplied materials using our directly employed site staff, plant and equipment.
Installing water tanks can pose a danger to workers and others working in and around the site. We only send fully qualified technicians to undertake this work to ensure that the project is delivered safely and to the highest quality.
Our staff are CITB registered. The company complies in full to Construction and Design Management Regulations (CDM). We offer free site surveys in which we will measure the proposed area of installation, check the tank base is suitably level and discuss design options. Site surveys also allow us to plan our installations and produce a Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) for each project. Meaning, we can select an appropriate method to safely install each tank in accordance with site regulations.
For example, as per the Work at Height Regulations 2005 (WAHR), we avoid working at height where possible and have developed our own hydraulic jacking system in which we can erect our steel tanks from ground level. In instances where we must work from height, each site team includes staff who are PASMA trained for assembling scaffold towers/mobile platforms and IPAF trained to operate scissor lift platforms and cherry pickers. All operational staff are CSCS cardholders, confined space trained and certified TWI geomembrane welders.
We aim to remove hassle and risks for our clients, delivering a quality installation from start to finish.

Maintenance Tips
Water Tank maintenance is essential for the following reasons:
Water Quality
Ensures the water stored is of a suitable standard for your application.
Longevity
Regular cleaning/maintenance can extend the anticipated lifespan of water storage tanks.
Functionality
Preventative maintenance keeps your water tanks operational and reduces the need for emergency repairs. Maintenance of your tank should include regular visual inspections, particularly focusing on connecting pipework such as inlet and outlet areas as well as looking inside the tank to inspect the water clarity. Unclear water can be a sign of poor water quality. Testing the water should also be considered to determine the need for extra treatment of the water.
Arranging a designated maintenance period to replace ageing components is a much more cost-effective method compared to an emergency repair and keeps your tank functional during operational periods.
Site Surveys
As part of our comprehensive installation services, we offer free site surveys. This enables the proposed tank installation area and assess:
- Tank Requirements – to discuss further the storage capabilities required and recommend a size and type of liner kit best suited for the proposed location/ application.
- Tank Base – measuring the dimensions and levelness of the tank base to check suitability for required tank size.
- Surrounding Area – assessing the area directly around the tank in case mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) are required, as well as access to the proposed tank location.
- Pipework – Noting the type, size and number of inlets, outlets, and relevant pipework to connect to existing or newly implemented systems for filling and draining.
- Site Requirements – All our staff are CSCS cardholders and hold many other accreditations, we also have multiple installation method for steel water tanks meaning we can work in accordance with any site regulations.
- Risks and Methods (RAMS) – From assessing the type of tank base, surrounding area, pipework, site requirements and more we will produce an in depth risk assessment to develop an appropriate method statement. Outlining the most suitable installation method based on the
factors and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
From the information collected and provided, we will be able to recommend a water storage system which best suits your application. Tailoring a solution to meet your unique requirements.
