Industrial Water Tank – Norfolk

Project: 4no. Tanks 10.97mØ x 9.11m high + 1no. Tank 9.14mØ x 9.11m high for the storage of Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG)

Location: Norfolk

Customers Name: M Gaze

The required tanks were higher than our standard range at 9.11m high, which presented working at height challenges.  In order to reduce the need to work at height the team decided to jack the tanks from the ground level, using our specialist hydraulic jacks.

The original request from M Gaze was to use the tanks to contain Mono Ethylene Glycol, so we specified our Landflex REP lining material for the project.  The client requested mid-contract that we also consider hydrocarbons to be present which resulted in the need to change lining material to Landflex ES and Landflex RPU.

The tanks were installed in the winter months, which meant that we had to contend with rain, high winds and snow, whilst continuing to work safely.

The project was a success and the client happy with the professionalism demonstrated by our site teams throughout the installation.  We have won some additional work with the client, which gave us the opportunity to inspect the tanks 4 years later which remain fully operational and in an excellent condition.

The project was a fantastic learning experience for some of our new recruits and gave them the opportunity to see the extensive theory and training put into practical realisation.
